On Thursday, November 18th, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Sea Girt Police Department received a report that a teenage male was lying down on the railroad tracks near Beacon Boulevard.
A friend of the 18th year old male, who was in the area at the time, stayed with the man until police arrived.
As Sea Girt patrolmen Doug Nesbitt and John DeMillio arrived at the scene the male lying on the tracks got up and ran.
Police subsequently started a search to locate the teenager.
New Jersey Transit was contacted and all train service on the North Jersey Coast line was halted.
A police K-9 unit from Wall Township responded, as well as officers from Spring Lake Police Department and Sea Girt Fire Department to assit in lighting the area.
After several hours of attempting to locate the 18 year old male, he was found by the Sea Girt Police Department at his residence in Spring Lake Heights.
Train service was restored shortly before daylight.
The teenager was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
